I think they are very good and the kit was the only thing I took on holiday (along with a MAC 226 and a Laura Mercier Smudge brush . I think they are great for makeup starters. If you have been collecting makeup and brushes for years – this is not an essential product as you probably have a lot of brushes already. But then you will probably be a makeup obsessive like me and think you need it. The travel kits are good alternatives to the MAC versions but I would personally get the full size. I think these are better than Crown brushes – the nearest brand i can compare them to. In my experience Crown brushes become loose between the connector/bristles and handle and do not last long – they are comparable in price to Sigma (but do have the advantage of being shipped from Europe – so keep that in mind for overall costs).
